As success factors for RAFI's gold status, EcoVadis highlights the advanced management system in the area of environment and ethics, as well as the implementation of additional measures. For example, RAFI has worked hard to increase the sustainability of its supply chains in the context of legal requirements and joined the UN Global Compact at the beginning of 2024. In addition, the good internal training opportunities and employment conditions at RAFI are recognized.
For Lothar Arnold, CFO of the RAFI Group, it is about constantly setting new standards while taking responsibility for products and projects as well as for the environment and society. “Sustainability is firmly integrated into our organizational and management systems and is part of our international corporate culture. We are therefore very pleased to have received this award. Above all, I would like to thank our employees, who advance our ESG goals with a great deal of dedication and commitment”.
For years, the RAFI Group has been pursuing a strategy of forward-looking, sustainable development and strengthening its commitment to resource-saving, emission-reducing production. RAFI has established an environmental management system according to DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 at all major production sites. In addition, an energy management system certified according to DIN EN ISO 50001:2018 has been introduced at the German locations in Berg, Überlingen and Bad Waldsee, as well as at the RAFI plant in Hungary.
The group is currently investing a high double-digit million amount in the renovation and energy-efficient modernization of its headquarters in Berg, in order to successively equip the site with new, climate-friendly roofs, facades and window fronts. The new plant in Bad Waldsee, which will be built in 2023, is also characterized by its energy-efficient and low-consumption building infrastructure.
