The scalable solution is characterized by a wide range of variants, offering customers a choice between twelve expansion levels with different ranges of functions and joystick equipment. To meet the high customization requirements, RAFI has redesigned around 80 injection molding tools and set up a production line with a new assembly process. In the one-piece flow process, one assembler is responsible for the complete armrest production at all stations and is supported by visual instructions and a pick-by-light picking system.

All components and work steps can be seamlessly tracked. RAFI can use almost exclusively self-developed technologies, product groups and its own production processes for manufacturing. The armrest system is developed in accordance with DIN EN ISO 25119 - AgPL c. Safety-critical controls for vehicle and hydraulic control have redundant hardware and diagnostic-capable software to reliably protect the operating system against malfunctions. The up to four installed joystick variants are based on different JOYSCAPE technology platforms from RAFI. Motion is detected by non-contact, wear-free Hall sensors with a lifespan of at least five million operating cycles.

Integrated shielding plates protect the sensors against the effects of external magnetic fields. Newly developed single-axis linear joysticks with a latching function enable the control of additional hydraulic functions. The silicone keyboards are equipped with RAFI MICON 5 series micro switches. This extremely compact switch series is characterized by a distinctive tactile feedback. High-quality gold contacts ensure long-lasting switching reliability. For safety-critical functions, the fail-safe, redundantly designed MICON 5 Safety micro switches are used.
