The construction of the new RAFI plant in Bad Waldsee, which began in May 2023, has reached an important milestone. On May 16, the completion of the shell was celebrated with a hearty craftsmen's party. The RAFI organization team took part in the event alongside the site management and the trades. The construction project, with which RAFI is creating 250 new, future-proof jobs in the Upper Swabia region, is scheduled for completion in early 2025.
In addition to new production facilities for plastics and machine production, metal processing, toolmaking and tool development, the new training and further education center, the RAFI Academy, is being built on 10,000 square meters of building space.
RAFI has attached great importance to an energy-efficient building infrastructure that meets the EFFH 40 standard. The primary energy will come almost exclusively from renewable sources. Heating and cooling will be powered by geothermal energy with two electric brine-water heat pumps. The primary energy source will be a geothermal probe system with 34 probes installed at a depth of 131 m. Additional energy will be provided by a PV system with a performance of 760 kWp.
